Buck vs LDO Energy Comparison

Undergraduate thesis project
  • Compared a TPS62840 buck vs STLQ020 LDO powering the same workload: an STM32L432 + BME280 node on a 5 s duty cycle (race-to-sleep).
  • Designed the 4-layer PCB in KiCad; measured input-side energy with an INA228 across supply voltages from 3.3 V to 4.2 V, 286 verified runs.

GreenEco — Smart Greenhouse

Top 12 — Green Innovation Contest (Sang Tao Xanh), HUST 2025
  • IoT greenhouse on Raspberry Pi: AI plant-disease detection (teammates) and remote control of lights, pump and fans via an app.
  • My part: sensor wiring and reading, sending signals to the server, and the relay control API.

  • ESP32-S3 with RTOS firmware: MPU6050 fall detection with automatic SMS alerts, plus a HUD for directions.
  • I built the sensor and firmware parts; the AI drowsiness feature belonged to teammates.
